Where Are You On Your Personal Faith Journey?
The Faith Journey Chart uses various font sizes of the words “I” and “Believe” to reflect different phases of belief/faith. On the chart the “I” represents belief in self and the “Believe" represents belief in God. To find faith the "i" (self) must become less important than "BELIEVE" (God). Once you have determined where you are then check out the "Suggestions to grow your faith" and the "Testimonial Videos" tabs in this website.
Faith Journey Chart Phases:
Phase 1 - An individual who does not believe in God and thinks they are in total control of their life. Bold capital “I” (self) and no “believe” (belief in God). This phase is all about the Ego.
Phase 2 - An individual who believes there is a God but that they are in total control of their life. They don’t spend much time with God. They may attend church at Christmas and Easter or sporadically throughout the year. They occasionally pray when it suits their needs. Notice the word “believe” now appears with the “I.”
Phase 3 - An individual who believes there is a God and feels God is a part of their life. They generally attend church, pray, and may read the Bible. They have not surrendered their Ego (dying to self) to follow Christ. The “BELIEVE” is fully capitalized, but the “I” is the same size as “BELIEVE.”
Phase 4 - An individual who has accepted Jesus into their heart. They have surrendered their Ego (dying to self) and are following Christ. They generally have a deep relationship with Jesus and are trying to live a God-driven life. The light of Jesus seems to shine through them. The “i” has become small to the word ”BELIEVE!” This is the phase where belief becomes Faith.
I spent 50+ years in Phase 2 and 3 where I believed in God. Over those years I increased my church attendance, prayed more and periodically read the bible. It was not until my first epiphany that I entered phase 4...Faith. This is the difference from belief in God to believing God. When God becomes part of your daily decision making. Faith is an infinite continuum and not a point in time.
